Instacart’s ‘Big & Bulky’ service allows you to order large and bulky items

After the introduction , Instacart will now allow you to order large items from retailers. The company’s new service, appropriately named “Big & Bulky .”,” promises same-day and scheduled delivery of products such as outdoor furniture, office supplies, and home electronics. As of today, several retailers, including Mastermind Toys, Office Depot and Staples, are participating in the program nationwide.

If you already use Instacart to buy groceries, you can order large items at the same time as your grocery shopping for the week. The company recommends some admittedly odd use cases where you can take advantage of the service. For example, let’s say you don’t have a TV before the football game you want to watch. Instacart says you can use its app to buy a 55-inch set in under an hour. It’s hard to predict how often you’ll encounter such situations, but the good news is that the service opens up an additional way for the company’s contract shoppers to make money. Instacart said to it will pay workers who accept Large & Large orders based on quantity and weight of items in an order and offer “high salary” incentives where available.
