Inside Karl Stefanovic’s night at the charity gala at Mercedes-Benz, Newstead – as the TV presenter investigates
Karl Stefanovic’s very clumsy performance of the ’70s disco hit during a lavish charity gala night was filmed – before he was accused of ‘touching’ a bartender same event.
Queensland Police on Thursday confirmed they were investigating reports of an alleged assault on a man at a melanoma fundraiser held at the Mercedes-Benz showroom in Newstead. Brisbane on August 20.
It is understood the waiter filed a report after he allegedly touched Stefanovic – who attended with his wife, Jasmine Yarbrough.
The father of four has not been charged and has yet to respond to claims, including those from Daily Mail Australia.
The TV presenter ignored the alleged incident entirely while co-hosting Today on Friday morning.
However, footage of the event – called ‘A Night For Melanoma’ and run by cancer charity group, the Six Hour Project – has surfaced online.

In one remarkable video, Stefanovic can be seen wearing a white baseball cap while dancing and attempting to sing Chic’s ‘Le Freak’ encouraging 350 guests to join him on the dance floor at The event lasted six hours.
“Get on the table,” he shouted, the disco dancer moving in a suit and tie, while holding the microphone.
‘Any.
“Get up,” he gestured, gesturing for everyone in the audience to jump after him.
Stefanovic was also photographed mingling with guests and posing with organizers and fans at the gala, which raised a whopping $290,000 for melanoma research.

In one photo, the media personality poses next to melanoma patient and event organizer, Gina Savage.
‘Gina, courage, resilience and beauty,’ he wrote on social media.
‘We’re just lifting the roof for you, your battles, your charity and all the others battling melanoma.’
‘Every six hours an Australian dies of melanoma,’ the fundraising website reads.
‘The Six Hour Project is on a mission to change this devastating statistic.’
Ms Savage previously appeared in a Today show interview with Stefanovic to tell the story of her diagnosis before the pair reunited for the fundraiser.

The allegations came as Stefanovic was photographed at Sydney Airport on Wednesday after returning to Australia from the UK.
The TV presenter was sent to London on September 13 to cover the death of Queen Elizabeth II and her funeral.
On Thursday, police told The Courier-Mail: ‘Queensland police are investigating a report in relation to the alleged assault of a man at a business in Newstead during an event on Saturday, August 20th.’
‘Because of ongoing investigations, it would not be appropriate to comment further.’
The Australian reported that some attendees did not see any change take place and Stefanovic left the event in good spirits.
