Injury ends season for promising joke


The season is over for Prank The chubby 2-year-old showed a lot of promise in her impressive debut on July 31 at Racecourse Saratoga.

Daughter of Into Mischief broke his left anterior ankle and will probably be out for the rest of the season.

The filly girl coached by Todd Pletcher won her debut, the 5 1/2 length test, by 9 3/4 length in a time of 1:03.94.

Prank is owned by StarLadies Racing, LNJ Foxwoods and Gainesway Stable.

“Obviously very disappointing,” Laurie Wolf, managing partner of StarLadies Racing, said Saturday. “Todd said she went a little bit.”

“Hopefully she’ll come back better than ever,” Wolf said. “We’re glad she’s okay. There were a lot of good races for her at the age of 3. The horse always had to go first.”
