Indonesia passes criminal code banning sex outside of marriage
Indonesia is not a secular country. Atheism is unacceptable – you technically need to follow one of the five regulated religions. So this is a multi-religious country with an official ideology, Pancasila, that prioritizes no faith over any other. It was the idea of Sukarno, Indonesia’s post-independence leader, to prevent the majority of the Muslim-majority archipelago from seceding.
