Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami presents credentials to King Charles at Buckingham Palace | India News


LONDON: Vikram DoraiswamiThe High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, on Thursday presented its credentials to King Charles III at Buckingham Palace calling it a “very special moment” for him and his wife.
The High Commissioner of India to London tweeted, “HC @VDoraiswami presented his credentials to the King at Buckingham Palace, where he then organized a Vin d’honneur. Thanks to @tariqahmadbt and many Indian and UK friends who were there. @MEAIndia @India diplomacy @indiandiplomats.”
Vikram Doraiswami tweeted, “A blink of an eye on a great country. A moment that has been and will be repeated by other, better representatives. And yet, a very special moment for my wife. and I, as we follow our three ancestors to serve with the greatest pride, an amazing, amazing, remarkable India.”
Buckingham Palace also announced that King Charles III has received incoming High Commissioners and Ambassadors. Buckingham Palace tweeted, “Today the King holds an audience with the upcoming High Commissioners and Ambassadors: Sir Vikram Doraiswami, High Commissioner of the Republic of India. Sir Eitvydas Bajarunas, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania.”
Earlier, on December 7, Mr. Vikram Doraiswami had a meeting with the UK’s Deputy National Security Advisor for International Affairs Sarah MacIntosh. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and global challenges facing the world.
India’s High Commissioner to London tweeted, “HC @VDoraiswami met with NSA Deputy @SarahMacFCDO today to compare notes on bilateral relations, including Defense, Security and Trade. They also discussed the implications of this. global challenge of the day. @MEAIndia @FCDOGovUK.”
On December 5, Vikram Doraiswami announced that India is ready to resume the e-Visa facility for UK citizens to India. In a video message on Twitter, Doraiswami said that the service will be made available to the public immediately and the date will be announced shortly. He added that the resumption of the facility would allow friends from the UK to come to India more easily.
“We are rolling out e-visas again and the service will be available to you immediately. That will make it a lot easier for friends from the UK to come to India. So, welcome back, e-visas are ahead and all our other services Vikram Doraiswami says: “including visas at your doorstep are still available to you. We wish a good winter in which everyone can celebrate their festival in India, the land of festivals.”
