India will give befitting reply to anyone who tries to cast evil eye on it: Rajnath | India News

NEW DELHI: India has never tried to hurt any country but a proper answer will be given if anyone tries to keep an eye on it, Defense Secretary Rajnath Singh said on Sunday, amid an extended border line with China east of Ladakh.
In his speech at a virtual event, the defense minister emphasized that strict vigilance is being maintained at the borders and that the country is ready to deal with any challenge.
He said: “India is a peace-loving nation that has never tried to hurt any country, but if there is any attempt to disrupt the peace and peace of the country, a Appropriate answers will be given.
The Defense Minister noted that strengthening the security apparatus by equipping the indigenous armed forces with state-of-the-art weapons is a top priority for the government.
He also called on citizens to contribute to nation building by overcoming sectarian barriers and instilling the qualities of national pride and patriotism that are so much found in every Indian soldier and freedom fighter, theo Department of Defense.
The event, “Shaheedon ko Salaam”, was organized by an NGO called “Maruti Veer Trust Jawan”.
Singh said armed force personnel, overcoming barriers of region, religion, caste and language, serve the nation selflessly and protect its people from all kinds of threats, like like how “revolutionary” freedom fighters gave their lives for the country’s independence.
“Every citizen has an obligation to uphold the ideals and resolve of our freedom fighters and fighters, defend the unity, integrity and sovereignty of our nation, and contribute to the building a strong, prosperous and resilient ‘New India’,” he said.
Singh added that India has never tried to hurt any country, but a suitable answer will be given if anyone tries to keep an eye on it.
The Defense Minister affirmed that the government is committed to ensuring the welfare of the relatives of the martyrs as well as the retired security force personnel.
He described family as a soldier’s greatest strength and support system and said the government would not hesitate to do anything to strengthen that support system.
“During my time as interior minister, ‘Bharat Ke Veerfund ‘is one of the main decisions made to support the families of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) officials and officers,” Singh said.
“Recently, Defense Minister launched ‘Maa Bharati Ke Sapoot’s website to allow people to contribute more to the Armed Forces Casualty Fund,” he said.
The defense minister said that the equipping of “Made in India” ships and other equipment reflects the determination to soon achieve complete ‘aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) in the field of defense.
