India Register Biggest-Ever Win In ODI History, Beat Sri Lanka By 317 Runs

Virat Kohli lit the rubber of death with an epic 166 match, his third century in four innings, as India decimated an ignorant Sri Lanka with a record 317-game win in the ODI match. Tuesday to sweep the series here on Sunday. Skipper Rohit Sharma (42 of 49) and Shubman Gill (116 of 97) shared a smooth opening partnership for 95 runs before Kohli (166 not over 110) pushed India into a tough spot in 390th to 5th with 74th in the international hundred and 46th in the over 50 format. Sri Lanka succumbed to the high quality fast bowling ball of Mohammad Siraj, who hit four times in 10 rounds to close. the front door of the opposition.

Sri Lanka lost a meager 73 in 22 rounds, highlighting the gap between the two teams.

This is the largest winning streak at a run in men’s ODI history.

Good night and really belongs to King Kohli. The 34-year-old, who ended a nearly three-year wait to win the national team 100 at last year’s Asian Cup, shows he is back at his best.

Kohli is currently only 3 points behind Sachin Tendulkar’s 49th century ODI record. Kohli’s conversion rate is remarkable as he hit the 46th tonne in 259 innings while Tendulkar made 452 innings to hit 49 centuries.

Before Kohli took over, Gill played some high-quality shots on the way to his second ODI percentile. With that effort, he paid off the trust of the team management that chose him to open the scoring against Ishan Kishan, who entered the series with double the money in his pocket.

23 times overtaking Lahiru Kumara in the early stages of the game helped India go through. After Rohit sent him six shots in the deep midfield, Gill collected four straight passes from Kumara, three on the left and one on foot after a full throw.

Rohit was also playing well on the other end but overtook play when he tried one of his signature shots, the forefoot pull.

Gill and Kohli then split a spot 131 runs where they had little difficulty against the Sri Lankan pitchers.

Kohli started the rounds with a series of boundaries before accumulating exemplary runs between players. The first of his eight sixties came in the 80s and it was a mistake for a long time, making him chuckle.

He scored 99 with a touchline coming in after a collision with Ashen Bandara and Jeffrey Vandersay, both of whom were running towards the ball from deep square foot and deep midline. Both players were eventually carried off the pitch.

The last 10 rounds saw India go over 116 runs with Kohli following his post-century ballistics. It rained at six o’clock from his milestone and a prolonged downpour obscured MS Dhoni’s helicopter shot causing Kohli to flash a big smile. Most of his max points come in the bull corner area.

To deal with the enormous power of India, Sri Lanka never really showed up in the chase. Siraj caught Avishka Fernando when he slipped too hard in the second half of the round. There was a procession afterwards with Siraj running through the top order.

Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep Yadav joined in with a couple of goals.
