India, China complete joint verification of troop disengagement at PP-15 in eastern Ladakh | India News


NEW DELHI: Indian and Chinese militaries completed joint verification of troop disbandment process in Gogra Heights-Hot Springs area near Patrol Point-15 to the east Ladakh field.
The withdrawal began on 8 September following discussions at the 16th round of corps commanders, where it was decided that both sides would move back to their current positions and verify afterwards.

The withdrawal process includes dismantling the infrastructure built by both neighbors. The previous positions they withdrew from included Galwan the area and the two banks of the Pangong lake in eastern Ladakh.
The Chinese military invasion began in May 2020 in an attempt to change the status quo of the LAC. The points of friction have now been resolved by both sides.
