Kannauj: The girl had to wait for help until the police arrived.

A shocking video from Kannauj of Uttar Pradesh shows bystanders busily filming a severely injured 13-year-old girl instead of helping her. The girl, who went missing at her home, was found a few hours later with multiple injuries, including on her head.
She tried to reach out for help but her appeal was unanswered. A group of men stood around her with cell phones in hand, filming her from various angles, showing a 25-second video.
Onlookers can be heard asking if the police have been notified. Another asked for the sheriff’s number. But filming continued without any attempt to help the girl.
The girl had to wait for help until the police arrived.
A second video, which has also gone viral, shows the local police officer in charge of the outpost rushing towards an auto-rickshaw with the injured girl in her arms.
Kunwar Police Superintendent Anupam Singh said: “The minor girl was found injured and local police took her to hospital for treatment.
Police said a case was registered under the relevant sections based on a complaint filed by the girl’s family.
It is not clear if the girl was sexually assaulted. No arrests have been made.
Further investigation is ongoing.
