It’s the holiday season, and for many people, that means tearing down every order and ruffled item you can find in your closet. And if this is you, you’re doing great, baby!
But, unfortunately, I’m here to report that your best in this regard is quite simply not enough to beat. Nicole Kidman, who appeared at the Australian premiere of “Being the Ricardos” looking like the reincarnation of Christmas. I know, I know: She has access to one of the best stylists in the biz – that would be Julia von Boehm – and all the designer brands you could dream of. Life isn’t fair that way sometimes.
Let’s go back to the labels the designer said, though. Kidman made an impression with a completely beaded dress from Etro, patterned with different shades of green. It’s short – don’t forget, late spring/early summer holiday Down Undah! -but hit her ankle to reveal a pair of PVC sandals from Aquazzura, lined with eye-catching crystals. Completing the look is a satin clutch with ‘s signature crystal buckle Roger Vivier in the shade of very lush green, the Rockefeller tree envy.

Some people might stop there and think, “That’s enough shine for a look, let’s take it easy on the jewelry,” but Kidman and von Boehm were brave enough to add. There are drop diamond earrings, a diamond bracelet, and several diamond rings in the mix. Sparkle, Niccy, sparkle! I was completely captivated by Kidman’s hair pulled up in its natural curly state, and yes red nails and lips are everywhere; perfect as a tribute to Lucille Ball, naturally, but also a nice nod to the nuances of the season.
Hey, chin up: You’ll get them next year, gorgeous. Unless, of course, Kidman gets another press tour. Then you might get lucky again.
