IKEA collaborates with the Swedish Mafia on a tape recorder

IKEA is no stranger to technology-based cooperation, but its latest may be particularly eclectic. The family store has co-operate with electronic music giant Swiss House Mafia to release a new collection of OBEGRÄNSAD (“unlimited” in Swedish) themed around music and creativity. The standout so far is a surprisingly slick-looking recorder. While the turntable doesn’t offer many known features beyond Bluetooth speaker support, the minimalist design can make it a conversation piece as you spin some vinyl.

This is IKEA, which naturally has some furniture. The OBEGRÄNSAD series also includes a table for music production purposes, complete with two speaker stands and a rack for MIDI keyboard and other controllers. You’ll have more space for your computer, mixer, and other essentials. Meanwhile, an armchair can help you relax during your listening session with its adjustable straps.

The collection doesn’t reach IKEA stores until the fall. The company hasn’t mentioned pricing, though its history of focusing on affordable products suggests you won’t pay much. What’s more, the full collection will include more than 20 pieces – there are plenty of possibilities for you to let the Swedish House Mafia shape the majority of your interior decor.
