Idris Elba is becoming easy on nepotism – according to a recent story he shared Breakfast club. While promoting the movie Beast As the lead actor, Idris opened up, playing a father figure on screen and in real life. He talk about the three-week period when his real-life daughter Isan Idris didn’t talk to him. Reason? She didn’t have a role in Beast.
“Interestingly, my daughter auditioned for the role. She wanted to be an actress and she auditioned and it ended up being chemistry,” Idris said. “She’s great, but the relationship in the movie and the relationship between my daughter – the chemistry doesn’t fit the movie, it’s weird.”
Movie highlight a widowed father of two daughters who return to South Africa for medical treatment but are eventually stalked by a bloodthirsty lion. Now showing in theaters, Iyana Halley and Leah Sava Jeffries take on the role of Idris’ daughter. And, conversely, his real-life daughter didn’t get one of those gigs.
The packer will tell Isan Elba she doesn’t get any roles
Will Packer, producer of Beast, joined Isan’s audition after one of the hosts asked who had turned it down. Packer admits to being a sufferer and describes Isan as his niece.
“It’s like my niece and she’s amazing. Here’s what I’m going to say, I give props to Idris because… you talk about nepotism, like two realistic-like fathers who want the best for their kids but are hard on them, Idris Elba and Ice Cube. “
Will explains that Idris gave him the green light to give her a fair audition or “put her over the wire.” Packer said that Isan auditioned with Idris.
“[Idris] was very tough on her. and he said, ‘Listen at the end of the day, we’re going to make the best decision for the movie. I trust you, trust director Balt. And she was very nice, very close.”
Finally, Will said, “Some of the nuances of that real-life relationship sometimes don’t show up on screen.”

Things don’t last long between father and daughter! He said that they passed the audition and got rejected with Isan moving gracefully.
“… I’m really proud of her going through that and then not getting the part but still coming to the premiere.”
During the same period that Idris’ interview gained traction online, a similar conversation went viral. Writer and producer Kirk Moore made waves with a tweet.
“I want black people to stop thinking housewarming is a bad thing. It’s disproportionate because we lack access. But… if a family member wants to be an actor and they’re good, why don’t I use my connections to earn gigi for them? Not everyone NEED to struggle before achieving it,” Kirk tweeted.
Kirk has talked about the subject through several tweets – repeatedly emphasizing that he’s not interested in making it difficult for someone trying to break into the industry. By Friday, the tweet had more than 25,000 likes.
