Original kinematics luna was first introduced in this country in 1972. This is a motorcycle with a 50 cc engine and is a licensed copy of Piaggio Ciao. At the time, it was a product that became famous throughout the country through its creative jingle, such as the ‘Chal Meri Luna’ advertisement. After 28 years of production, Kinetic Engineering discontinued the Luna in early 2000.
Now, the company is ready to bring motorcycles back as an EV. It will be launched by KEL’s sister company Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions Ltd. KERL has set up a brand new line of more than 30 welding machines in an exclusive shop in the factory. All assemblies will be finished and painted in the Ahmednagar department. To meet the requirements, KEL has also invested over Rs 3 billion in upgrading its paint shop and press & fabrication workshop.

However, KEL has yet to reveal any details about the design and features that the E-Luna will equip. Details regarding battery capacity, range and performance are also awaited.
Speaking of development, Ajinkya Firodia, MD, Kinetic Engineering Limited, says “At its peak, Luna sold over 2,000 units per day. I’m sure it will do great in its new avatar. We expect this business to add more than 30 cores of Rs annually over the next 2 to 3 years as the volume of E-Luna grows. This will also help KEL strengthen its presence in the EV segment.”
