Creating a quick, delicious, nutritious meal should be simple during difficult times. So when? gobbled gave me a meal kit to try, I was happy to choose from the company’s extensive menu with many different meal options. If you’re interested in finding a catering service for your family, let me share my experience with Gobble to determine if it’s right for you.

See at Gobble

I tried Gobble for a week to see how the meals worked out with my busy schedule. To get started, you can visit Gobble’s website or app to choose your meal from an extensive menu including Classic Dinners, Neat & Clean Dinners, Fine Dining, Seasonal Barbecues summer, etc. Then you set up delivery and wait for it to arrive at your door. When my Gobble box arrived a week after I ordered it, I received a neat set of ingredients. The box contains refrigeration packs to keep everything fresh and cool during transport until you can transfer those ingredients to the refrigerator.

Inside the box are the ingredients, an ingredient list outlining possible allergens and items needed to prepare the meal. Gobble organizes each meal’s ingredients into a large plastic bag, eliminating food waste when necessary.

I chose three pasta dishes: Chicken Parmesan with Penne Pasta and Marinara Sauce, Shrimp Scampi with Lemon Garlic Butter Pasta, Korean Beef Bulgogi with Udon Noodles and Fried Egg. I also ordered a few packets of Chocolate Cookie Dough to bake. All three of these dishes, along with the rich chocolate dessert, were exquisite and overall the instructions were easy to follow.

The first dish I prepared was Chicken Parmesan with Penne Pasta and Marinara Sauce. This meal takes a little longer to cook but is worth it in the end. While testing other meal kits, I noticed some instructions required using a specific pot or pan to prepare the dish. The need for special cooking utensils can disappoint some people if they didn’t expect to need additional (or specific) tools. However, Gobble keeps it simple and provides meals without having to run to the store for more supplies.

My husband helped me cook this meal, which makes it easier for me to finish the dish quickly, but it can be ready to serve in less than an hour, even when cooking alone. . The final product turned out great and tasted great. What makes these meal kits so convenient is how easy it is to clean up afterwards and no food is wasted because everything is portioned out for you.

Gobble’s diverse menu means I can choose dishes I wouldn’t normally cook. In my house, we usually eat the same thing every day to maintain consistency in our diet and not worry about wasting food. Sometimes, a meal seems too difficult or complicated to prepare quickly, which can be intimidating.

One of those out-of-the-box meals is Shrimp Scampi. I don’t cook seafood often, so I was excited to cook a meal that I can usually only eat at a restaurant. Surprisingly, this dish turned out great and took us less than 40 minutes to prepare.

Luckily, my husband and I do not have food allergies. But if you do, Gobble is flexible on replacements. You can often switch ingredients to avoid ingesting any food allergens. However, my husband and I have dietary restrictions, we count calories and macros. Gobble has included the calories per serving of each meal on the insert to accommodate us, so we don’t have to calculate nutritional information.

Our last dish of the week was Korean Bulgogi Beef with Udon Noodles and Fried Eggs. This dish is one of the fastest we make in all of our meal kits and it tastes like it came from a Korean restaurant. Technically, we could have chopped some vegetables, like onions and peppers, instead of pre-slicing them, but we didn’t mind the added convenience.

The great thing about meal kits is how much money you can save on food. When you break it down, buying a meal kit for $12 can be more cost-effective than grocery shopping and certainly more cost-effective than eating out. Meal kits include all the ingredients you need for a meal for about the same price as a pound of beef at your average grocery store, which can range from $8 to $12 a pound.

While prices may vary depending on the grocery store, it’s important to note all the other ingredients needed to make your meal. Maybe you buy extra ingredients that you only use once, or buy not enough and risk wasting meat and produce.

It’s important to note that Gobble is one of the most expensive meal kits on the market in terms of cost per serving. For two people, a Gobble meal kit per day for 5 days costs $12 per serving or $120 total.

ZDNET Buying Tips

If you want to test out meal delivery services and want one with an extensive menu with thoughtful packaging and food information, gobbled is a great choice. However, it is more expensive than other meal kits, so I don’t recommend Gobble for people with large families.

However, if you want quick and delicious meals with quality ingredients and easy preparation, the cost of Gobble may outweigh the benefits for you and your busy family. If you value your time and want to create meaningful experiences at the dinner table without the hassle of cooking and intensive planning, try Gobble.
