The Ioniq 6 EV sedan is the production version of the Hyundai Prophecy concept that was shown at the recent Auto Expo held in India.
hyundai will have a large presence at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023 starting on 11th January in New Delhi. The automaker will have a series of demonstrations of existing and new models along with several concept cars. While the all-electric Ioniq 5 will be one of Hyundai’s stops, we can confirm that the Korean brand will also showcase the recently launched Ioniq 6 electric sedan at the Delhi Motor show. .

Hyundai Ioniq 6: What is it?
The Ioniq 6 is Hyundai’s third electric model to be offered globally with the other two being Kona . tram (sold in India) and Ioniq 5. It has seen a global launch back in june this year and was previewed by Hyundai Prophecy Concept that also came to India at the last Auto Expo. Ioniq 6 uses trademarks of E-GMP . skateboard architectureThis also forms the basis for KIA EV6allows for scalable battery sizes, rear- or all-wheel drive, flat floors, and EV-specific ratios.
Essentially a stylish all-electric sedan, the Ioniq 6 has lots of curves and long folds along with an aerodynamic silhouette. The brand claims that the Ioniq 6, with all design elements, has a drag coefficient of just 0.21, supported by flat door handles and a camera in place of a traditional rear-view mirror. At the rear, the Ioniq 6 has pixel-style LED taillights, a ducktail rear spoiler, and shoulder curves, similar to the concept.
On the inside, the Ioniq 6 has a flat center console, seen on the brand’s other EVs, and the Genesis GV60 SUV sold overseas. The minimalist dashboard houses a pair of dual 12-inch touchscreens and a two-spoke steering wheel.
Hyundai Ioniq 6: size, powertrain, range
The Ioniq 6 comes with two battery size options – the base level 53kWh and the larger 77kWh (also available on the Ioniq 5). A single-engine RWD setup will be standard with higher variants also getting a dual-engine AWD option. The Ioniq 6 Dual Motor makes 320 hp and 605 Nm, just like the Ioniq 5, while the RWD setup makes 228 hp and 350 Nm.
According to the WLTP certified range, the Ioniq 6 has a range of 429km for the RWD 53kWh version, the RWD with 77.4kWh has a range of 614km, while the AWD delivers 583km.
Hyundai’s EV Plan for India
The first generation Kona EV is now on sale in the Indian market for ionq 5 is the second EV to go on sale in January. As for the Ioniq 6, Hyundai has yet to announce its India launch plans and its display at Auto Expo 2023 will be used to gauge consumer interest.
