Hyundai Motor India has quietly discontinued the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol variant of the Creta compact SUV. The specific variant of the SUV is no longer listed on the automaker’s official website. The automaker hasn’t revealed any reason behind the variant’s discontinuation. However, it could happen when the automaker introduces a 1.5-litre petrol engine to the SUV earlier this month. The turbocharger means higher prices for the SUV, which could be another reason behind this production discontinuation.

The Creta’s 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol variant has a 6-speed manual transmission, while a 7-speed DCT automatic is offered. 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine of hyundai Creta is capable of producing a maximum capacity of 138 horsepower and maximum torque of 242 Nm.

Interestingly, the Creta-specific discontinuation comes shortly after the Korean automaker introduced an updated version of the SUV earlier this month, available with petrol and diesel engine options. 1.5 liter diesel. That being said, there are currently no turbocharged petrol options for the Creta SUV.
The 1.5-liter petrol engine is capable of producing a maximum capacity of 113 hp at 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 143.8 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The SUV has a six-speed IVT transmission paired with the engine. The diesel version of the SUV offers a maximum power of 114 hp at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 250 Nm between 1,500-2,750 rpm. Hyundai claims that both the petrol and diesel versions of the SUV are RDE compliant and are also ready to use E20 fuel. In addition, the updated Hyundai Creta also comes with an integrated starter (ISG), which comes with Idle Start and Start function.
The Hyundai Creta has been one of the very popular SUVs in India since its inception. In addition, it has been one of the main revenue generators for the brand from the very beginning.
