Hunt Showdown’s upcoming event will set the world on fire

Some men just want to watch the world burn, and that includes me. Devil’s Moon Event for Outstanding Cowboy Swamp Simulator hunting challenge starting on December 14th, will no doubt send players to grind objects in the environment for points to unlock new weapons and cosmetics in the way of previous events. However, this one is different in that it also introduces a “wildcard condition” called Inferno, which burns a large area of the map. That is dramatic. Come see.

Fuck me, that’s some good trumpet.

Hunt has long struggled with weather conditions, sending the map into a fog whenever I pick up a Sparks sniper rifle, but massive firestorms are something new. Developer Crytek hasn’t made it clear yet whether you’ll load in to see the map engulfed in flames or if it will happen mid-game and I’m hoping for the latter while expecting the former. Either way it’s a fun one, with familiar routes blocked by hell and the whole scene bathed in burnt orange.

Crytek also has gave us a look at new unlocks, including “New Weapons, Variants, Legendary Rewards, Charms, etc”. It only took me a few rounds to unlock new weapons from previous events, so hopefully the same is true here. The legendary hunter cosmetics showcased in the trailer above will likely take many more hours.

If you like multiplayer shooting and haven’t tried Hunt, you should. It’s one of those Best FPS gameas well as one of the best battle royale game and one of best multiplayer games. It’s just one of the best games, hands down.

You can pocket the Hunt Showdown for £36/$40/€40 On steam.
