Huge Fire At Gujarat’s Jamnagar Hotel Under Control, 27 Rescued

About 27 people were rescued after a massive fire broke out at a five-story hotel near Gujarat’s Jamnagar on Thursday night, police said.
The hotel was destroyed, but no one was seriously injured in the incident, Jamnagar District Police Chief Premsukh Delu said.

“The fire started around 7:30pm and spread quickly. 27 guests are staying in 18 of the 36 rooms. They were all rescued by police. Hotel staff are also safe,” he said.
The fire was brought under control around 10:30pm.
Police added that fire tenders from the Jamnagar and Reliance fire brigade (whose refineries are located in the area) were put into use.
The police official said preliminary results of the investigation showed that a short circuit caused the fire.
Some 2-3 people complained of difficulty breathing and were taken to the hospital.
