Japanese sportswear manufacturer Goldwin Inc. and premium sportswear brand Woolrich have announced the introduction of Spiber Brewed Protein as part of their collection.
Annealed Protein Yarn is a structural protein material with great potential to address the growing need for the apparel industry to use petroleum- and animal-free alternative fabrics.
The product will be manufactured by Spiber Co, a Japanese biotech joint venture company. Raw materials Fermented protein is produced through a microbial fermentation process using plant-derived sugars as the main raw material.
