Shahi Sooji Halwa Recipe: How to Make Shahi Sooji Halwa
To start, get a bowl and fill it with warm water. Add the almonds to the bowl and soak them overnight. The next morning, peel the almonds and chop them, and also pound the cardamom with a pestle and mortar.
For the sugar syrup, heat a saucepan and pour in the water. When the water starts to boil, add the saffron threads, sugar to taste, and the crushed cardamom. Stir for about 5-6 minutes and your syrup is ready!
Heat the ghee in a pan, add the sooji and stir until it turns colour. Add sugar syrup and simmer for 10-12 minutes. Decorate it with rose petals and dried fruit. Your halwa is ready to be enjoyed.
