To get started with this recipe, first grind the tomatoes into a puree. Mix all the ingredients for the marinade to form a paste. Coat the chicken pieces with a thick paste and let marinate for 2 hours. Now, heat the butter in a heavy bottom pan and add the marinated chicken to it. Cook until chicken is tender.

In a saucepan, heat the butter and add the red paprika, coriander powder, cumin powder, ginger, salt, and chopped green chilies. Fry for a while. Add the tomato puree, orange food coloring, and whipped cream and cook over medium heat until the puree thickens. Add the shredded chicken along with the sugar and cream. Let it simmer for about 25 minutes. Garnish with whipped cream, finely chopped green peppers and coriander. Amritsari murgh makhani is ready!
