Bitwarden is one of many password managers on the market, most of which are feature-rich. As more and more people start using password manager in their daily lives, the creators of tools add features to make them more attractive.

One such feature that you may find in the password manager of your choice is the ability to add a credit card as an account. vault item. When you find that you can’t even consider it for a second.

You should.

If you are a business, you may have credit card company accessible to employees. Why not just use the Bitwarden Organization feature and add credit card info as vault entry? That way, anyone in the organization will have access to that credit card information so they don’t have to ask you for it or save it in an unsafe location.

If you have a Bitwarden vault for your family, you can have one credit that others in your household need access to. Save that card as a vault item and they will have access to it.

Or maybe you’re an individual who doesn’t want to always have to search their wallet or purse to order over the phone or online. Save that credit card as a vault entry and you’ll have access to it wherever you are.

With Bitwarden, credit card vault entries are treated differently from other entries and allow you to save and select the following information:

  • Name
  • Account name
  • Card number
  • Brand
  • expiration month
  • expiration year
  • Security code

So from the item in that vault, you will have all the information you need to use the card… all of this information is protected by the vault’s password. That’s actually safer than keeping the card in your wallet (which can be lost or stolen).
