How Jared Isaacman Used Fighters In Training
Astronauts love fighter jets, and billionaire founder Jared Isaacman is no different.
Isaacman, who founded the payment company Shift4in deep training with his team for Polaris Program’s first spaceflight, announced earlier this yearCooperation with By Elon Musk SpaceX. Isaacman’s crew of four are using fighter jets – including planes from his personal fleet – to prepare for orbit on the first mission, known as Polaris Dawn.

“We can’t go to space often [and there] Isaacman told CNBC’s Morgan Brennan at an airport in Bozeman, Montana.
“We want to use more time leading up to [the launch] to train as much as possible,” Isaacman said, adding that “using a fighter jet is a great analogy” to spaceflight. It follows a method that NASA uses with the corps. his own astronaut.

While Polaris Dawn was originally scheduled for Q4 2022, Isaacman said the mission launch is expected to take place “early next year.” This is the first of up to three missions, with the last expected to be the first time the crew has launched SpaceX’s Starship rocket.
Isaacman outlined three goals of the program: Go to the highest orbit around Earth that humans have ever flown, conduct a spacewalk outside SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule, and use Internet satellites Starlink to contact. He also said about 40 scientific and research payloads will fly during the mission.
Isaacman said SpaceX is “investing heavily” in the project, in the form of developing spacesuits and altering parts of the Crew Dragon spacecraft. Mr. Isaacman said Polaris was created with Musk “soon after the Inspiration4 mission” last year.
“I don’t think I’m going to go to space again” after Inspiration4, says Isaacman, but “seeing the direction SpaceX is going with Starship – having the opportunity to participate in a real development program…quite exciting.”
