How Google Photos’ new video editing tools can help Chromebooks

Google recently announced Picture Users will be allowed to combine their images and videos with music and title tags – all with just a few taps in the coming months. The tech giant updated its blog post to announce the new movie editor and mentioned that it will arrive first for Chromebooks user. In addition to these, Google has also introduced a number of new and improved default apps for Chrome aimed at increasing user productivity.
How this new feature will help sales on Chromebooks
As ZDNet reports, these new Chromebook features were announced just before the back-to-school season, which is “a prime time of year for Chromebook sales.” The report also suggests that low-cost laptops could give a boost as consumers tend more towards high-end personal computers in 2022. Furthermore, the report claims that sales Chromebook sales from HP and Lenovo has been successful since mid-2021.
How the upcoming movie editor will work
According to the blog post, the upcoming movie editing tool will help create movies from scratch, where users will be allowed to choose the videos and photos they want to include. Meanwhile, users can also choose a topic and people (or pets) they want to highlight. Upcoming Google Photos The tool will intelligently select the most meaningful moments from long videos.
The app’s search capabilities are also expected to make it easier for users to select and then arrange photos and clips in the order they want. The tool will also allow users to crop videos and even edit them to adjust brightness, contrast, and more. Furthermore, users can apply one of the Real Tone filters (previously added in 2022) designed to adapt on all skin tones and also add finishing touches such as – music and title tags.
Other changes Google has planned for Chromebooks
To provide professional-grade video editing to Chromebook users, Google is also planning to add the LumaFusion app. This multitrack video editing tool will allow users to add graphics, visual effects, transitions, distortions, audio tracks, sound effects, narration, color grading and more.
On the other hand, to improve productivity, the tech giant will soon add PDF edit features for Chromebook’s default multimedia app, Gallery. The company is also adding a new, pre-installed Cursive app that will let users – capture, edit, and organize handwritten notes on stylus-enabled Chromebooks. This will help users to copy and paste their notes into another application or send them as PDF.
In addition to these, Google will also add a pre-installed Screencast app to Chromebooks that will allow users to record, view, and share transcribed videos and presentations.
