Houthi missile attack in Tel Aviv injured more than a dozen people
A Houthi missile attack injured more than a dozen people in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The Israeli military said an attempt to shoot down a missile launched from Yemen was unsuccessful and it crashed in a public park early Saturday morning.
A Houthi military spokesman said the group attacked military targets with hypersonic ballistic missiles.
the Houthisan Iran-backed rebel group that controls northwestern Yemen, began attacking Israel and international shipping shortly after the start of the Gaza War in October 2023, saying it acted in solidarity with the Palestinians.
The Israeli military says about 400 missiles and drones have been launched into the country from Yemen since then, most of which have been shot down.
After the rocket attack early Saturday morning, Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s emergency medical services agency, said it treated 16 people for “minor injuries” from broken glass from Broken windows in nearby buildings.
Another 14 people who suffered minor injuries on the way to the reserves were also treated.
Earlier this week, Israel launched a series of attacks against what it said were Houthi military targets. attacked ports as well as energy infrastructure in Yemen’s capital Sanaa. Houthi-run Al Masirah television reported that nine people were killed at Salif port and the Ras Issa oil terminal.
Houthi forces vowed to continue attacking until the war in Gaza ends.
