Hot streaks on table as Lyceum, Jose Rizal clash
Lyceum is currently on a 5-game winning streak. On the other hand, Jose Rizal University has won its last four games.
One of those tracks will end on Friday.
Pirates and Bombers clashed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan City, with the hopes of both extending their streak.
For Lyceum, the stakes are a bit higher.
The Pirates are hoping for a victory that will put them in line with St. Benilde Blazers, who are leading the league with a record of 6-1 (win-lose).
Jose Rizal, meanwhile, is looking to drag his opponents into second place scoring his fifth win in seven games. And Bomber hopes to do just that by getting the most out of their roster.
Jose Rizal coach Louie Gonzalez said: “The defense was there. “What we need to do is the combinations that we have on the floor. And we will see that in this match, who will be next.”
The two teams clash at 3pm, after the stoppage time match between San Beda and Arellano.
Lyceum is on its biggest win of the season, an 82-75 win over defending champion Letran, which should boost its morale going into the match against Jose Rizal.
Incidentally, neither team has lost since coming back from poor starts in the league.
