The university said all cell phones and other documents have been turned over to police for further investigation.
Protests were organized by Chandigarh University students in Mohali on Saturday night over the alleged videos.
The university management also posted social media posts claiming that some of the female students had attempted to die by suicide because of the incident.
The Punjab government has requested a high-level investigation into the matter.
