Honkai: Star Railway Developer HoYovers revealed the game’s upcoming Version 2.3 release date will be June 19, 2024. The announcement comes after the Version 2.3 Special Show stream also showed a preview of what’s to come included in the patch, including new characters, events, codeand story missions.
The Special program streams for the first time shares details about the mechanics of two new characters, the characters Firefly and Destruction, and the character Quantum Jade. Firefly enters battle with an Iron Cavalry armor called SAM and is a breakout-focused character, draining health to use skills, before going into special mode with his ultimate. Meanwhile, Jade enhances her ally’s attacks at the cost of health while performing a follow-up attack that can be further enhanced by her ultimate.
We’ve also seen some glimpses of the upcoming story, which takes place on an Airship called the Radiant Feldspar and appears to involve both Sparkle’s distributed explosives and the IPC plot on Penacony. There are also a bunch of new events coming up, including a new variation of the Simulated Universe game mode, called “Divergent Universe: The Human Comedy,” which will allow players to use characters they own but have not yet fully built or leveled up.

Even though the 2.3 update isn’t out yet, HoYoverse has already begun drip marketing for future characters. Yunli is considered a Destroyer and a Physicist type characters, while Foxian Kieu Thu is a Fire-type character on the path of Selflessness.
