Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson will receive a sculpted endoscope in late August, her rep says TMZ. The reality TV star will turn 17 at the end of August and plans to have surgery after her August 28 birthday. The procedure will be done in New York City, and Alana is undergoing surgery in hopes of getting healthier. According to reports, she is currently 275 pounds and wants to lose 125 pounds to get down to 150 pounds.
Stitch sculpting endoscopic sleeve is a “non-surgical outpatient procedure”. It reduces the functional volume of the stomach by 70 to 80%, leading to a feeling of fullness in patients when they eat smaller portions. Recovery time is much less than with other weight loss procedures, and patients are usually discharged within hours of surgery.
The guardian of a 16-year-old girl, her older sister, Pumpkin, signed her receipt of the procedure. Alana tried diet and exercise but didn’t get the results she wanted, according to TMZ. The site also reported that Honey Boo Boo’s boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, is also planning to carry out the procedure. Alana and Dralin have been dating since the beginning of 2021.
Alana’s mother, June Mama, loss of guardianship hers to Pumpkin in June. Alana has lived with Pumpkin for many years due to June’s struggle with addiction. Although June is now sober, Alana still decides to live with her sister instead of her estranged mother.
Mama June also had weight loss surgery before. In 2016, she underwent a gastric bypass surgery. She lost more than 100 pounds in the months following the surgery. In addition to a gastrectomy, Mama June also had a dermatectomy to remove the “loose skin” on her neck, arms, and belly.
