Fidelity Investments plans to let investors put bitcoin accounts in their 401(k), the first major retirement plan provider to do so.
Staff will not be able to start add crypto to their nest immediately, but by the end of the year, 23,000 companies using Fidelity to manage their retirement plans will have the option to put bitcoin on the menu. The endorsement of the nation’s largest pension plan provider shows crypto investment moving further into the mainstreambut it remains to be seen whether employers will accept it for their workers.
