Honda outlined the organizational change under three broad structures – creating electrified business developments, reorganizing regional operations, and reorganizing corporate functions. The first of these three is, perhaps, the most important. This operation will merge the business strategy and BEV product development function of the automotive business and the strategy related to electrification and development function of the motorcycle and electric products business, Honda said. .

The existing six regional operations will also be streamlined into three regional operations – North America, China, and the Linked Region. The affiliate region will combine four regional operations – Japan, Asia & Oceania – covering India, South America and Europe.

Earlier, the company announced the plan build three dedicated platforms Because tram partnership with General Motors by 2030. The company also plans to build and sell millions of electric cars by the end of the decade. Currently, Honda offers plug-in hybrid models in select markets and Honda-e, its all-electric compact car. But the race is really on in a rapidly growing auto market, where traditional manufacturers are stepping out of their comfort zones to make the most of the anticipated shift to electric vehicles on the road. Around the world. Tesla is leading – and by quite a distance, but companies like Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, Audi, GM, Ford, Toyota and even some local Chinese companies are out and about to claim share.

China is the world’s largest auto market as well as the largest electric vehicle market, followed by the US and some European countries.
