Hollie Doyle Blog: Chantilly trip to win Third prize before flying to Sweden for upcoming big trips and Japan | Racing news

It’s been a big international weekend for Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle, who teamed up with Super Sprint winner Eddie’s Boy in France on Saturday and Globetrotting Outbox in Sweden on Sunday.

French quest gives Eddie speed

It’s been a busy weekend of flying for me, with one trip in France on Saturday and three in Sweden on Sunday – a journey that will begin with an early morning trip to Eurostar to Paris to go Eddie’s Boy in Group Three Prix Eclipse (4.00) at Chantilly on Saturday.

Eddie made his owner Middleham Park Racing and coach Archie Watson proud in his first season, winning a valuable Super Sprint at Newbury and making the Windsor Castle Stakes special. strong at Royal Ascot.

I’m no stranger to horseback riding in Chantilly, as Archie and I have had some success there over the past few years, and we have a great opportunity to raise our record with one of the standout performers. .

It was a lovely, fair race and he viewed the ride well enough during the big sales race at Newmarket last time. The Easy Front is a mystery to him, but hopefully the journey will prove valuable for all of us.

From Paris, I’ll be taking an overnight flight to Stockholm in Sweden to ride Archie’s three horses at a value match in Bro Park before flying back to Heathrow for a welcome day off on Monday.

Outbox bid to be better in Stockholm

The mission is to do better than last year with the global event Outbox in Group Three Stockholm International Cup (3,20) at Bro Park in Sweden on Sunday.

Last year, he finished second in this 12 arc to track expert Square De Luynes, despite being drawn in a wider draw than the winner and finishers around him.

Unfortunately we were handed an even worse draw this time, widest at stall 15, which on a tight left track isn’t ideal for a horse with a tendency to hang the right. Whipping isn’t allowed in Sweden either, so I’ll need to do my best to negotiate bends smoothly.

Outbox is a seasoned traveler who has received some big overseas bonuses, notably a £400,000 wallet in Qatar in February, new and good after a reliable third place his trust in Geoffrey Freer’s Group of Three in Newbury last month.

Huge Opportunity for Juvenile Watson

I think a lot about Archie’s two-year-old Manitouso I’m really looking forward to getting back to him in Appel Au Maitre Svealandlopning (3,25) at Bro Park.

Like Outbox, he is owned by Hambleton Racing, whose owners were delighted to see him convincingly beat a six-feathered maiden at Chepstow in late August, his first start since it was held.

Manitou’s form looks rock-solid, with the horse he beat by nearly four lengths, Vetiver, scoring against Beverley next time around. Even his third stint at Newmarket in his previous start has been given a serious boost with Streets Of Gold adding a value incubator in York and a major sales race at Curragh to his CV. that.

This will be the first time he’s hit the bend on a sharp turn, but I have a lot of confidence in this horse who is capable enough to run a big race.

Hopefully Tabdeed can get back to Goodwood’s form

I don’t know what to expect from someone who is talented but unpredictable Tagged in the list Uplands-Bro Kommun Bro Park Sprint Championship (5.45) in Stockholm.

Archie’s seven-year-old showed exactly what he can still do when he narrowly won the Striker’s Cup at Goodwood, but he hasn’t been able to replicate that form in two runs since.

This is a very different track style from what he’s used to, but he’s one of the best horses in the race on official figures and completes an interesting trio of chances.

Aiming for a big goal in Japan

This winter there will be an international taste for my husband Tom Marquand and myself as we were both invited to Japan. It was a great opportunity for me to develop my career and challenge myself in a different jurisdiction.

The details are yet to be confirmed, so I’m still not sure which coach we’ll rely on, but I know I’ll be honing my skills against some of the best riders in the world in two months. .

We will live in Tokyo, such an exciting city, work on the track all week and race on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We’re going home for Christmas, so I’ll be back in all weather early in the new year.

A few people have asked me if cutting a year in my country and missing out on the possibility of setting a new record for the winner has disappointed me, but the answer is definitely no. At this stage of the season, you start to feel a bit tired and it’s physically impossible to keep going at the same relentless rate year after year.

While beating my previous records is great, my ambition has always been to establish myself as a top international jockey player, and this represents a great opportunity to get closer. to that goal.
