Paul Wall becomes real about the moment he learned about his race
Recently, Paul Wall went on ‘The Breakfast Club’ and revealed that he didn’t realize he was white until white people started telling him he was white. He shared that white people would come up to him and say, “You are white, why do you talk and act like that?” and it always confused him.
The Texas native said that moment hit him when he was younger, probably in elementary or middle school. Paul explains that he grew up in a super “diverse” neighborhood in Houston, Texas, surrounded by black, Asian, and Hispanic people.
He later joked to Charlamagne Tha God that he went home and “cried to his mother, calling her out for not telling him he was white.” Paul laughed with the morning crew and shared that his mother had a DNA test, which showed she was “3% black.” The ‘Sittin’ Sidewayz’ rapper went on to say that although his mother took the test, he has yet to take any test himself to officially learn about his background.
