Himachal Pradesh CM directs officers to develop advance warning system to mitigate disasters | Shimla News

Sukhu while chairing a high-level disaster management meeting at the state secretariat in Shimla on Monday directed the relevant department to identify earthquake prone areas, especially in Chamba districts, Kangra, Kullu and Kinnaur and prepare a detailed report on landslides and sinks.
He also directed officials to identify black spots as the main cause of traffic accidents in the state.

He detailed subsidence and landslide-prone areas in the state, and gathered information on preparedness measures put in place over time to address such incidents. .
He also directed relevant officials to increase the support provided to the state electricity board through the state disaster response fund and make necessary revisions to the state disaster relief handbook.
Guidelines have been issued to map glaciers through new and advanced technology, and require conducting research and submitting reports on more earthquake-prone areas.
He also asked officials to arrange appropriate treatment for snakebites and ensure that snakebite-prone areas are prioritized on the list.
