Hero MotoCorp starts delivering Vida V1 electric motorbike


After a long wait, Hero MotoCorp has finally entered the electric two-wheeler space under their new sub-brand called Vida. They currently only have one electric scooter in their lineup called the V1. Now, the manufacturer has started shipping Vida V1. The first customer took delivery at the company’s experience store at Vittal Mallya Road in Bangalore. Vida has launched the electric scooter in phases, deliveries have started in Bangalore and it will be available in New Delhi and Jaipur soon.

Vida is offering the V1 in two variants – Plus and Pro. Vida V1 Plus has a price $1,45 thousand (old showroom) and Vida V1 Pro price $1.59 lakh (old gallery). The scooters will go in reverse Ola S1TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.

The electric motor on both variants is the same. It is capable of generating peak power of 6 kW and continuous power of 3.9 kW. The top speed of both scooters is 80 kmph. However, there is a difference between the acceleration times of both scooters. V1 Plus can accelerate from 0-40 km / h in 3.4 seconds while V1 Pro can reach 40 km / h from a standstill in 3.2 seconds.

The scooters come with four driving modes. Can Sport, Ride, Eco and Custom. Using Custom mode, the driver can manually set the regenerative brake response, performance, etc.

The battery pack on both scooters is different but both are IP68 rated and backed by a 3 year or 30,000 km warranty. The V1 Pro has a larger 3.94 kWh package that can provide the IDC’s claimed range of 165 km. The V1 Plus has a smaller 3.9 kWh battery pack that has an IDC claimed range of 143 km.

Vida is also offering a limp home feature, which reduces the chances of the rider getting stuck. The scooter can drive at 10 km/h for about 8 km in case the SOC drops below a predefined limit.
