Ian made landfall in South Carolina – the first landfall the state has seen in nearly six years. Ian, which was later downgraded to post-tropical cyclone, brought heavy rain, high winds and flooding along the state’s coast, causing damage in some areas.

Before Ian made landfall in South Carolina Friday afternoon, Governor Henry McMaster called the storm “very dangerous,” but told reporters “this is not as bad as it could be.”

The image shows us the devastation caused by Ian, devastated southwest and central Florida It was a Category 4 storm before slowing down to a tropical storm. It regained hurricane status Thursday afternoon over the Atlantic, becoming a Category 1 hurricane.
