According to a United Nations report, Russia started all-out war in Ukraine on February 24. More than 10 million people were forced to flee their homes, according to the UN report, and thousands of people were killed. network – the exact number is currently unknown. According to KSE Institute figures, in just the first three weeks of hostilities, more than 124 kindergartens, 39 hospitals, 1,600 residential buildings and dozens of bridges in Ukraine were destroyed or damaged. And these numbers are constantly increasing.
Ukrainian Olympic champion and undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk and his teammates cannot be left aside during this challenging time for their homeland and nation. They have established the Usyk Foundation to mobilize financial support from the international community who are interested in contributing to the birth of peace. The BGV Charitable Foundation, a partner of Oleksandr Usyk’s foundation, will ensure the direct implementation of a number of projects in Ukraine.
“Helping one’s country and its people win this terrible war started by the Russian Federation has become the goal of the entire nation of Ukraine. I call on the world community, my boxing colleagues and people of conscience to be aware of the terrible crimes that Russia is committing right now against innocent people. We need your help and support. Ukrainians already have the power of unity, capable of defeating any evil. Now is the time to join forces globally. Every contribution is valuable, as it brings us closer to victory and to a peaceful life in Ukraine, in Europe.
I believe that the good that one person brings to the world always comes back to the giver. So let’s fight on the side of the light, on the side of Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Usyk, founder of the Usyk Foundation.
The Foundation has identified civilian assistance as the main area in which it will operate. The main task is to cover the basic needs of the people affected by the war.
