Eddie Hearn doesn’t think it’s possible to make Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez happy.
The head of Matchroom Boxing was focused on Mexican movie trilogy vs Gennadiy Golovkin.
Alvarez, who will be in the match against ‘GGG’ on September 17 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas after a shock defeat to Dmitry Bivol, is keen for a rematch against the Russian lightweight opponent.
But Hearn isn’t confident he’ll be able to return, with a 175-pound WBA belt, next May, which is when the superstar wants it to happen.
Bivol was recently ordered by the WBA to face Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez, who was promoted by the Golden Boy. Hearn, like Golden Boy, has a broadcasting rights agreement with DAZN.

“Zurdo was called mandatory but we gave Bivol an immunity against Joshua Buatsi, so that will be looked at by the WBA in some way.”
“He’s going to have to fight one or both of those guys against Canelo Alvarez and both are very dangerous battles.”
Negotiations were underway for the said war between Bivol and Buatsi before the WBA ordered the war with Ramirez.
Buatsi, last active at the O2 Arena in London in May, beat Craig Richards in the official qualifiers for the WBA crown, but he has now accepted an invitation from the IBF to participate in the negotiations to knock out Artur Beterbiev’s title against Haitian-Canadian Jean Pascal.
Hearn expects Bivol to return to the ring in October or November, but that won’t leave much time for him to enter another fight before a rematch with Alvarez, which will take place in May:
“Buatsi is a great talent. Gilberto Ramirez is also a great talent, a former world champion. ‘Canelo’ has made it clear that he wants to fight Gennadiy Golovkin and then he wants a rematch with Dmitry Bivol in May, so we’ll have some time.
“I think October, early November is the reality for Dmitry Bivol’s next fight [and] We are talking to World of Boxing [Bivol’s co-promoters].
“Obviously, he is under contract with us, so we will be planning his next fight. Whether it’s Buatsi or it’s Ramirez, it will be the next one. “
