Healthcare and personal care key product categories in 2022: Meesho


Indian e-commerce marketplace Meesho found that shoppers prioritize product categories including health, care and hygiene as well as fashion by 2022 when the platform has a total of 500,000 homes provided.

Of the 500,000 new sellers Meesho joins in 2022, 61% are new to e-commerce in general and selling online for the first time, the business announced in a press release on Jan. December. Meesho saw sellers from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh lead the highest revenue earned this calendar year, and Meesho’s 6,000+ sellers generated more than Rs 1 billion in revenue during the same period.

In terms of popular product categories, men’s hair care products, feminine hygiene products, fitness products, and smartwatches come out on top. The platform reportedly sold 148 sarees per minute as well as 93,000 t-shirts, 51,725 ​​bluetooth headsets and 21,662 lipsticks per day.

Men’s haircare is booming in rural areas, and more than 60% of orders in this segment come from tier 4 towns. Fitness equipment sales triple as health returns priority, a continuation of a trend that began during the pandemic. Sunday proved to be Meesho’s busiest online shopping day in 2022, instead of Wednesday in 2021.

Meesho targets small businesses and aims to allow them to scale with little capital investment. The business operates on a zero commission model and this allows their sellers to save a total of Rs 3,700 crore by 2022, Meesho reported.
