“He will kill you faster than I will”
Tommy Fury, brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, has dismissed rumors of a fight between Jake Paul and Carl Froch, in what he believes would be completely inappropriate.
This happens after being online back and forth between the former super-middleweight champion and the controversial YouTuber boxer.
Paul had a successful start to his boxing career, picking up six straight wins, albeit against opponents who weren’t true ‘boxers’. However, the 26-year-old has beaten former UFC world champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley and earned the respect of several fighting game legends.
On Sunday night, however, he will face his first professional boxer, as Tommy Fury seeks to end the American boxer’s undefeated streak.
Despite his upcoming fight, Paul called his recent famous intro, Carl Froch. Even though Froch is 45 years old, he seems very fit and the former WBC, WBA and IBF world champion was quick to respond, in his usual belligerent style.
In an interview with iFL TVFury advised Paul to avoid fighting Froch, but admitted that it succeeded in adding more publicity to their fight.
“Carl Froch will kill Jake Paul, even faster than I will with him.
Again, it was like that, it got everyone talking, so I guess that’s the job done for him, isn’t it.
Before Paul can begin to consider challenging the British boxing legend, he must first outmaneuver Fury on Sunday night in Saudi Arabia.
The pair topped an underwhelming card that included a world title fight for the WBC cruiser class title. Ring Road for the main event scheduled for around 7pm GMT, for Event BT Sport Box OfficeUS fans can follow the action on ESPN+.
