He needs “Jump there M ********** r!”
Johnny Nelson gave his thoughts on a variety of topics this week, among them, what he believes Anthony Joshua must do to beat Oleksandr Usyk.
On August 20, Joshua rematched the current heavyweight champion in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to reclaim the title he lost last September.
In an interview with Boxing Social’s Ayman Khan, Nelson said:
“Jump on that m********** r and don’t let him breathe!”
“Face him, use your speed, your power, your precision, your heavyweight and if you do that, you’ll win.”
During the build-up to his first fight last year, Joshua stated that he wanted to give Usyk a boxing lesson. This plan backfired when he himself was unboxed by Usyk and lost by unanimous decision.
Calls have been made for the British heavyweight to change his style and be more active in the rematch.
After the loss, Joshua worked with different coaches and finally settled for Robert Garciawho some believe will help ‘AJ’ make the necessary adjustments to defeat Usyk.
Nelson’s comment echoes the sentiments of some boxing fans who want to see Joshua more offensive behavior towards Usyk. He believes Joshua has the ability to finish the bout early.
In an interview with Daily Mail The former WBO cruiser class champion made this prediction:
“The fight doesn’t go to the distance, and I’ll go back to the British and go with Anthony Joshua with an injury-time win.”
