Haunted Chocolatier: Feeding That Strange Craving With What We Know So Far

My first final verification of the Haunted Chocolatier came directly from the source when I sat down with developer Eric Barone, AKA ConcernedApe, for a review. Stardew Valley’s remarkable success. He briefly mentioned his upcoming projects (yes, plural projects) and is pleased to announce that the first likely launch game – Haunted Chocolatier – is a separate endeavor. Despite the lack of details, I’m happy to hear the indie creator’s next project is in the works.

Then he surprised everyone. Barone has publicly shared the original Haunted Chocolatier game footage, and it looks incredible. The art style immediately evokes Barone’s first title, although the developer has made it clear that fans shouldn’t expect the same experience.

“In Stardew Valley,” Barone wrote in his news blog, “The focus is more modest: living off the land, growing food, and connecting with the people and nature around you. With my next game, however, I want to explore even more magical possibilities… experiences that take you beyond the ordinary. That’s where the magical haunted chocolate comes in.”

A fun-filled game of simulated chocolate making mixed with the mystery of a spooky castle and topped by adorable-looking characters? It’s a recipe for another beloved indie hit. However, Haunted Chocolatier is still in early development, with PC being the only platform currently confirmed. And while the developer says he plans to bring the game to every major console, there’s been no official announcement yet. And like biggest summer show seems to be behind us, it seems less and less likely that we hear anything about the game during this season’s presentations. That’s not surprising, considering how early the game seems.

Despite dodging big shows so far, there’s still some exciting news about the project. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Barone confirmed that there will be some connection between his next haunting sweet adventure and the farming sim that made his name. You can view the exchange below.

As things are going for the fledgling project at this point, it looks like the fine details have been brought up. However, Barone’s choice to answer the question on social media is even more curious and points to the possibility that the Haunted Chocolatier may actually be more closely linked to Stardew Valley and not just its mesmerizing image. it. That doesn’t mean the game will copy the creator’s previous work. As before, Barone is quick to emphasize that his upcoming match will be on his own two feet.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on Haunted Chocolatier as its development continues to grow, and we hope to hear more details about it whenever Barone is ready to indulge fans.
