New FEC filings show a steady rise in donor enthusiasm for Harris, even as the initial hype surrounding the Democratic nominee swap in July has died down. Harris’ entire political operation has grown. $310 million in July after President Joe Biden ended his candidacy and endorsed her to take over as the Democratic nominee.

Harris also reversed the fundraising gap in Democrats’ favor, erasing the fundraising advantage Trump and Republicans had before Biden dropped out.

Since then, Harris’ campaign has outspent Trump through a massive advertising campaign on television and digital platforms, along with other campaign expenditures.

According to FEC filings, Harris and the DNC together spent $258 million in August, far more than the $121 million disbursed by Trump and the RNC.

“As we enter the final stretch of this election, we are making sure every hard-earned dollar is spent on winning the support of the voters who will decide this election,” Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Harris’ campaign manager, said in a press release earlier this month.

Entering the final stretch of the presidential race, Harris’ team ended August with $404 million cash in hand, far beyond $295 million War funds reported by Trump operation.

The Trump campaign is making sure the donations will carry them through the rest of the race.

“The Trump-Vance campaign is gaining momentum heading into the final stretch,” Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement. “The August fundraising numbers reflect that momentum.”
