Two Phil won Shakopee Juvenile two back | Coady

Skip at 7-1 for the newly upgraded GIII on Sunday Street Sense S. at a rainy Churchill Downs, TWO PHIL’S (c, 2, Spin hard–Mia Torri, according to General Quarters) seriously took off three t-shirts from home and raced a bit late, but did enough up until that point to make for a pretty comfortable win. Without the vanguard, Two Phil collided well on the first turn with Red Route One (Gunman), causing a chain reaction forcing Western Ghent (American pharoah) widely, then found a cozy spot from Wednesday as Top Hiring (Boatman) dictates a uniform speed from the rail. Covered behind GIII with Anticipation winner S. Boppy O (Bolt d’Oro) and Frosted Start (Frosted) at the half-mile marker, Two Phil’s was driven outdoors and began a powerful rally that crossed three-eighths. Maintaining that momentum, the chestnut commanded in the upper half and could have been distracted some by the reflection of the stands from the puddles on the track, but finished well to score. Hayes Strike (Link) did a simultaneous internal run with the eventual winner on the last quarter of a mile and took a second place win over Filiparino (Honor code), who stumbled considerably at halftime and did well to round out the trio. Jace Street (Quality Sugar). Sales History: $150,000 RNA Ylg ’21 KEESEP. O-Patricia’s Hope LLC & Philip Sagan; B-Philip Sagan (KY); T-Larry Rivelli.
