Hannah Smith apologizes for “hateful” words toward black officer


Hannah Smith is retracting the hateful words she spewed at a Black officer during a recent arrest. The ‘Love Island USA’ star was arrested in Georgia on September 30 for making a terrorist threat, according to The US Sun.

Here’s what reportedly happened during Hannah Smith’s arrest

Things got worse for Hannah when police tried to escort her out of the concert venue for disorderly conduct including drunken screaming and yelling. According to the arrest report, the 26-year-old man tried to walk up to them and punch them but was unsuccessful. In response, the officer grabbed Smith’s arm, pushed her to the ground and arrested her. She also tried to kick the officer while handcuffed. Furthermore, during the transfer to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, Hannah Smith allegedly showed up, according to The Shade Room.

“B***h, I can’t wait to kill you, you stupid, ugly bitch, ’cause you’re so fat, and they love us skinny b*****s ’cause you’re the black king , and I hate niggers so I can’t wait to kill you and your sister, you stupid a*sb***h,” Hannah Smith allegedly shouted.

Additionally, the reality star reportedly made “multiple statements about a podcast and her fans” during the arrest. Upon arriving at the jail, Smith allegedly refused to get out of the vehicle. She eventually paid an $8,000 bond and was released from the Cobb County Jail under special terms. Terms include no use of alcohol, cannabis or drugs and random testing for both at Hannah’s expense.

‘Love Island’ star apologizes for being arrested

On Tuesday (October 15), Hannah shared her apology to the police officer and the black community at large via her Instagram Stories. She began by saying that she deeply regrets the circumstances surrounding her arrest. “I understand the impact and severity of my actions and words and I am deeply sorry,” Smith said.

“I take responsibility for my actions and I apologize to everyone affected by my behavior, especially the police and the black community, whom I offended and disrespected. . The experience was incredibly humbling and challenging because I simply have no memory of that night. This is not my personality and I would truly never say such things to hurt anyone,” she wrote.

She closed her apology by asking for forgiveness and sharing her hope to change her behavior. Smith has not shared any additional comments on the incident, and the comments section on posts on her Instagram feed is limited. Read her full statement below.
