Halo Bionic Prosthetic Necklace Expands With New Master Chief and Kat Designs
As part of an ongoing partnership with Limbitless Solutions, a nonprofit dedicated to creating 3D printed prostheses for children, 343 Industries has introduced two new prosthetic sleeve designs based on characters Halo.
The first is based on the power armor Mjolnir in Halo Infinite. The other set is based on the armor of Halo: Reach star Spartan Catherine-B320, aka “Kat”, which was one of the first characters in Halo to use prosthetic legs. 343 Industries also assisted Limbitless Solutions in developing new Limbitless Anthracite Black and satin matte green for the prostheses to match the sleeve design. The collaboration goes back to 2018, when 343 assisted with Master Chief and Arbiter themed faux sleeve designs.
At the Halo World Championships in Seattle this weekend (October 20-23), attendees will learn more about the collaboration and have a chance to see samples of the new designs. Limbitless Solutions staff will also be on hand to demonstrate the prosthetic’s capabilities through a demo game.
Halo Infinite allows players to customize their Sparta with prosthetic limbs and includes several accessibility options. Microsoft has also made strides in making their games more accessible to players with disabilities. Most recently, it introduced new shows at 2022 Xbox Accessibility Galleryincluding updated accessibility services on the Xbox website and the Xbox Ambassador Accessibility Discovery Path.
