super giant of Hell is getting a sequel. Not a DLC, a full sequel, and it looks great. Announcement tonight game awardssequel of Best game of 2020 left the story of Zagreus to instead follow Melinoe, Hades’ ruthless daughter. It’s Super Giant so of course we also have a beautiful animated trailer for it, which you can check out below.
Supergiant is not for a sequel, which is why this is so unexpected. Hades 2 will stick firmly to the Underworld of Greek mythology and will follow the same structure as its predecessor. You’ll benefit from fully voiced gods (new and old Supergiant say, so keep an eye out for some familiar faces) and battle your way through dungeons full of monsters.
There are no major details of the story yet, but from the trailer it appears that the princess of the Underworld has a heavy burden on her shoulders, possibly because her father is currently imprisoned, and so she begins put an end to Kronos and perhaps free her old man.
Supergiant will follow the same development plan as they did with the original Hades, meaning the game will be in early access and the studio will seek player feedback through key stages of development. There’s no word on when that will happen, but let’s hope it happens soon. Hades 2 is set to release on Steam and Epic game store.
