GTA The Trilogy – Definitive Edition now on Steam, still using Rockstar Launcher



GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition currently free from the Rockstar Store exclusivity and available for purchase at Steam. All three games are Steam Deck compatible and also have Steam achievements for all the finishers out there. According to the press release, the trio will also arrive at the Epic Games store “in late January.”

Games appear in a package at steam shopand while they all have individual storefronts, all purchase options redirect you to the trio package itself. Additionally, there is currently a 50% off sale on GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, ending on Thursday, February 2.

As of launch, if you want to play these enhanced versions of GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas on PC, you can only purchase them via the Rockstar Store, which requires the Rockstar Game Launcher . With that said, Steam notes that you’ll need a user account from Rockstar Games Social Club. And unfortunately, the Rockstar Game Launcher will still run in the background while you play the game.

It’s been a long time since the original release back on November 18, 2021, which we called the “absolute crash of creative oblivion” in rating 4/10. Since then, more than 100 errors fixed, but it might be wise to wait a few days and see what the Steam reviews have to say about these re-releases.
