GSC game world begins development of Stalker 2 on ‘sideway’ amid ongoing Ukraine conflict

GSC game world, spoke out in support of his home country Ukraine last weekhas placed the development of the upcoming shooter, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, on the “sideline” amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

After weeks of heightened tensions, Russia invaded Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Ukrainian civilians. GSC Game World, 11 Bit Studios, Bungie, and many other studios have spoken out in support of Ukraine. GSC Game World, based in Ukraine, has revealed in a new video that Stalker 2 has been pushed aside to focus on employee safety and support.

Here’s everything said in the video:

“Last week, we were editing a video of our motion studio. We wanted to show how the cutscenes are created. Take the time to watch the video, write the script, and talk to the actors. Last week was many years ago. On February 24, Russia declared war on Ukraine and sent missiles, tanks and soldiers to our homeland. Our country is forced to fight to survive again. This seems to be the price of freedom. This video is our answer to [the] “How are you?” question. Now, we’re working hard to help employees and their families survive. The development of the game has moved aside, but we will certainly continue, after the victory. Pride for Ukraine.”

It’s not clear if this means Stalker 2 or not, has been delayed to early December of this year, will be released later. Although, to be honest, the video game lag isn’t the slightest problem with everything going on in Ukraine. Here’s hoping everyone at GSC Game World remains safe.
