‘Gruta’, ‘The Tale of the Little Dragon’, plus today’s other releases and sales – TouchArcade

Hello gentle readers and welcome to the SwitchArcade Recap on May 5, 2023. In today’s post, we’ll round up the rest of the week’s releases. Not going to lie, this is possibly the worst Friday of new games I’ve seen in the time of writing these articles. There aren’t many games, nothing particularly stands out, and not even anything weird or remarkable. After summarizing those, we go into the new sale listing and expiring for the day. A few good ones in there, so make sure you check them out. Let’s go!

New release

Gruta ($4.99)

You know it was a quiet day when I was headlined a plain old Ratalaika release. Gruta is a platformer game with an interesting art style that tries to tell a story without any text. Looks like at least a five dollar Switch platform is fine. I love how you can use your sword to hit back at enemies.

Homemade Dessert ($4.99)

I could have used the screenshot showing the actual gameplay, but how could I not use this screenshot? Anyway, this is one of those games where you use different ingredients to place orders for customers. Sometimes they don’t want you to make something delicious. Sometimes they want you to help them poison their ex. Well, at least that’s something different for this kind of game.

The Tale of the Little Dragon ($12.99)

I won’t lie: it looks more like a hippo to me. Well, I suppose it doesn’t matter if it’s a dragon or a hippo. This game has a fierce $5 Switch platform power, but it costs $13 instead. Because it’s a Red Deer, it’s possible to regularly cut prices to bring the price down to an easier to swallow level. Like the protagonist this hippo can use its huge jaws to swallow all kinds of food. It’s a hippo!

Swordsman: Origin ($9.99)

I guess the first one did well enough to ultimately deserve a follow-up. This is a choice-based narrative adventure, just like the first one. Make your decision and arrive at one of eight different endings. It continues where the first game left off, so you should probably play that game before moving on to this one.

Devil Skin ($9.99)

This came out a few years ago on the computer and the reception was… not good. Some of them are due to errors, some are due to design choices. I hope the bugs are fixed for this Switch release, but I’m not sure those design elements have been changed significantly. Well, this is all old information and speculation. I haven’t played this Switch port, so I can’t really say much about it. It’s a challenging combat-focused action platformer, and some people eat them like caramel popcorn. Mm, caramel popcorn.

Dark Picture Anthology: Man Of Medan ($19.99)

What do you get when you play a mid-range horror game and port it in rather raw form to the Switch? This, obviously. Frame rates are low in your 20s, but maybe you can pretend it’s more cinematic? It features multiplayer support for up to five players locally and two players online, so you can at least enjoy the experience with friends. Proceed with extreme caution, if at all.

Neon chaotic shapes ($30.00)

Publisher Isaias Game Dev seems to have a new business plan: take decent, cheap indie games from Steam, port them over to Switch, raise prices ten or fifteen times, and factor in sales. worm to trick people. Neon Chaos Shape is a little okay geometry war-Twin shooter style. A very pleasant game for two dollars that it sells on Steam. Because thirty Shove? Are not. Any. I know it’s a tough market out there, but this is just rude behavior.

Virtual Family Cooking: Chapter 2 Farm Life ($4.99)

Yes, you can see the screenshot. You know exactly what kind of game you’re in here. There is a little decoration component between the stages where you can decorate your family’s house with your earnings, but otherwise this is like thirty other time management cooking games on eShop.

The sale

(North American eShop, US price)

Some great games are on sale today, and I’ll call out a few as usual. Meg’s Monster It’s an unforgettable game so even though its sale isn’t particularly deep, I would recommend it. If you somehow miss everything Star Wars game released on Switch so far, that’s new Star Wars Legacy Pack was an absolute steal for forty dollars. Kangaroo Kao there’s a new low and the last one where I can feel comfortable introducing the flawed but somewhat exciting 3D platform. Weekend Outbox shows that the latest sale from Limited Run Games is ending, so feel free to check those out. Maybe you want a night trap? Maybe one cosmic heroine? There is a silly.

That’s all for today and this week, guys. We’ll be back next week with more new releases, more sales, more reviews, and some news. some kind of Zelda stuff coming out next week, I heard. You wouldn’t know it by reading this, but there was a behind-the-scenes crisis that nearly made this article unfinished. However, all was resolved peacefully. A rabbit and their robot fox saved me, and that’s all I can say about it. I hope you all have a great weekend, and as always, thanks for reading!
